"Making The Church A Better Place"

A Transparent Life In Christ

About Me

In the journey of my life as an author of 19 books, I have embraced the power of transparency in my writing. Each page reflects my heartfelt experiences, aimed at illuminating the grace and love of God. My mission is to guide others through the often painful paths of church hurt and the complexities of church leadership, offering hope and healing to those who feel lost. With every story, I strive to create a space for reflection and growth, inviting readers to explore their own struggles and find solace in the divine. Together, we can navigate the trials of faith, discovering the transformative love that awaits us all.

Having navigated through the painful experience of church hurt, I now find solace and inspiration in the world of fiction. With a newfound desire to write short stories, fantastical tales, and intriguing sci-fi narratives, I aim to entertain my readers and share a richer perspective of my life, moving beyond my negative past. The stories I create will be a celebration of imagination, reflecting the resilience and joy that have blossomed within me during my healing process. It’s a thrilling opportunity to explore the depths of my creativity, offering a glimpse into the vibrant substance that has long been waiting to be expressed. Now, I’m ready to embrace this adventure and invite others to join me in discovering the wonders that storytelling can bring. My books are available in our bookstore here or on Amazon.

I thrive on having fun and embracing life to the fullest. Whether I'm at a theme park, watching movies, or enjoying a night at the theater, I always find a reason to laugh and share jokes. However, I also recognize the importance of balance and can shift to a serious mindset when necessary. Traveling and dancing are passions of mine, particularly to the vibrant rhythms of Caribbean music, which brings me immense joy. Over the years, I've learned to appreciate music beyond my previous confines of Christ-centered songs, allowing me to experience life more fully. After 31 years of being in Christ as of August 2024, I understand that faith is not solely about quoting verses; it's about living a balanced life that reflects love and joy in every moment.

Having personally experienced the Lord's goodness, miracles, grace, and mercy, I find it challenging to hold any grievances against Him for the negative experiences I've encountered within the church. While being wrongfully judged by many has been disheartening, it simultaneously grants me the freedom to embrace my authentic self in Christ. This perspective allows me to rise above the criticisms and false perceptions, knowing that my identity and worth are rooted not in the opinions of others, but in my relationship with the Lord. I am anchored in His presence, where I truly live, move, and have my being, liberated from the constraints of human judgment. In this divine embrace, I find strength and solace, empowering me to continue my journey of faith with confidence and grace.

I find immense joy in the realization that the world is filled with more people who don't know me than those who do. This perspective has taught me that support can often come from unexpected places, sometimes even from strangers rather than family, friends, or church communities. I resonate deeply with the Apostle Paul, as he serves as a guiding example for navigating these relationships. While many Bible verses focus on love, the scriptures addressing division, gossip, slander, and respect of persons deserve more attention. My book, "The Issue with All Church Leadership," delves into these themes, highlighting the importance of acknowledging imperfections within the church. It's crucial for individuals to recognize that no church is perfect, as this understanding can prevent unnecessary hurt, disappointment, and rejection with faith communities.

Worship is my sanctuary, my safe place, where I encounter the ever-renewing presence of God. The realization of Christ’s love brings me unparalleled comfort and joy, a profound assurance that never fades. I find great fulfillment in dance ministry and corporate praise and worship, as nothing compares to the overwhelming experience of the Lord’s presence during worship. This deep connection fuels my passion to write books aimed at healing those who have faced pain in the church. Having walked a similar path, I can attest that Jesus will heal and restore you, using your story for His glory to further His kingdom. My writings provide biblical solutions for church hurt, guiding the wounded back to the Lord rather than away from the church. To all who have felt lost, I invite you to return to Christ and experience His unconditional love and redemption. He's waiting on you. Come home.

In 2007 I released my first book, "A Pastor's Mistake: What to Do When You Know Your Pastor Is Wrong" (now two separate books), I explore the deeply painful events and experiences orchestrated by a former pastor, through a lens of vulnerability and honesty. Writing this book was not something I desired, yet it became a healing journey. To protect identities, I refrained from using real names, and I found myself weeping throughout the process. The book includes journal entries and quotes from live recordings of church services, bringing my story to life. During the time when I was angry at God, backslidden, and resentful of all Christians, an extraordinary moment occurred: God Himself visited my living room to restore my soul. His guidance compelled me to return to the church I had abandoned and led me to humbly repent to those I had slandered. This reshaped my understanding of compassion and forgiveness toward Christians who caused me terrible pain. Forgiving them was my greatest benefit, and unfortunately, I've had to do this many times thereafter which caused me to acquire many revelations of the word of God.

Life indeed continues after experiencing hurt within the church. It’s essential to remember that there are dedicated pastors who genuinely care for your spiritual well-being and strive to support you in accordance with the teachings of the Bible. While no one is without flaws, this imperfection is why God extends His grace to us all. Embracing this grace allows us to heal and move forward, fostering a sense of liberation in our faith. The feeling of being free in the Lord is indescribable; it opens doors to new beginnings and strengthens our connection with Him. Trusting that there are caring leaders and communities can help restore faith and bring peace, reminding us that God’s love prevails beyond our church experiences.
